As we approach five years in business, we wanted to share a little about where Everglades Door and Glass began, because the values that built this company continue to shape the way we work today.
Everglades Door and Glass did not begin with a warehouse full of inventory, a fleet of trucks, or rows of organized material racks.
It started much smaller than that.
Before supplying materials, Everglades Door and Glass was simply an installation company focused on commercial doors, frames, glass, and hardware. We sharpened our knowledge in the field, solved problems firsthand, and gained a real understanding of what it takes to keep a project moving.
Our experience in the field became one of our biggest advantages. By working hands-on with installations, understanding jobsite conditions, coordinating crews, and troubleshooting issues in real time, we developed a perspective that continues to shape how we support our customers today.
As our experience grew, so did our vision.
After building a strong foundation in installation, we saw an opportunity to better support contractors and customers by supplying materials as well. Through partnerships with some of the largest manufacturers in the industry, including ASSA ABLOY, Allegion, and Trulite, we expanded beyond installation and into supplying commercial doors, frames, glass, and hardware for projects across South Florida.
In the beginning, much of the operation ran out of Neil’s garage.
Frames were welded, doors were prepped, and hardware was organized with whatever space was available. There were days when semi trucks arrived loaded with doors, frames, glass, and hardware. Deliveries were often far too large for the space at hand, but they still had to be unloaded, organized, and moved where they needed to go.
No loading dock.
No warehouse crew.
Just hard work, problem-solving, and a commitment to figure it out.
As we approach 5 years in this business, those early years taught us lessons that continue to define how we operate today.
When resources are limited, details matter.
Showing up matters.
Communication matters.
And most importantly, trust has to be earned.
Project by project. Relationship by relationship. Everglades Door and Glass grew.
Not because of shortcuts.
Not because things came easy.
But because contractors and clients trusted us to follow through, solve problems, and stand behind our work, especially when things became difficult.
Today, Everglades Door and Glass proudly supplies and installs commercial doors, frames, glass, and hardware throughout South Florida. The projects may be larger, the operation more established, and the systems more refined, but the mindset remains exactly the same.
Because in Division 8, success is rarely about materials alone.
What sets us apart is our problem-solving mindset.
The right opening matters.
The right hardware matters.
The right coordination matters.
But what matters most is having the right people behind the project.
The people who answer the phone when there is a problem.
The people who catch issues before they become delays.
The people who communicate clearly, follow through, and help keep projects moving forward.
We understand that contractors are not simply buying doors, frames, glass, or hardware.
They are trusting someone with schedules, budgets, inspections, field conditions, and expectations.
That trust is not something we take lightly.
While we may never be the biggest name in the industry, we are perfectly okay with that.
Our goal has never been to grow as fast as possible.
Our goal is to build something dependable.
To be the commercial door and hardware company people can rely on.
To earn trust one project at a time, the same way we did when everything started in a garage.
To every contractor, client, partner, and crew member who has been part of this journey, thank you for believing in us.
Over the past five years, we have had the privilege of working alongside companies such as Herman Construction Services, Shawmut Design and Construction, Cooper Construction, Aarya Construction & Design, American Direct, Brasfield & Gorrie, DH Pace, Fedtrac, Hartzell Construction, HDSSFL, IRG Global, Neucor Construction, and many others who have trusted us with their projects.
Your support, partnership, and confidence in our team have helped shape Everglades Door and Glass into what it is today.
We are grateful for every opportunity, every challenge, and every relationship we have built along the way.
Five years in, and we are only getting started.
